L’Europa deve esserci ed essere solidale
In questi giorni tutti noi assistiamo a carrellate di numeri ed analisi economiche che ci raccontano della Grecia. Ma vediamo anche volti e racconti di un paese allo stremo che sembra sgretolarsi. Una delle frasi più ripetute è “dobbiamo fare di tutto per non finire come loro”. Noi vogliamo dire anche qualcos’altro, vogliamo dire che non possiamo lasciare che la Grecia continui così, al di là delle conseguenze su di noi. Come cittadini europei progressisti e democratici crediamo che l’Europa deve essere una e che deve essere uno spazio di pace e solidarietà, così come la pensarono i suoi fautori.
Per questo, in questi giorni frenetici vogliamo dire che la strada deve essere un’Europa sempre più unita come l’orizzonte verso cui incamminarsi tutti insieme e che questo non si può fare abbandonando paesi e cittadini al loro destino.
Europe must be and must be united
In these day we all assist to a series of numbers and econic analysis that tell us about Greece. But we see also faces and hear stories of a country taken to the extreme that seems on the brink of implosion. One of the sentences most repeated is “we must not end up like them”. We want to say also something else, we want to say we can’t allow Greece to continue as now, independently from the conseguences of us. As democratic and progressive european citizens we believe that Europe must be one and that it must be a place of peace and solidarity, as those who first thought of it.
For this reason, in these hectic days we want to say that an always more united Europe must be the horizon towards which to head all together and this can’t be done abandoning countries and citizen sto their destiny alone.
